Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar, the Minister Information Technology Board of the Azad State of Jammu and Kashmir, visited the NLC Technical College in Rawalpindi. During the visit, the government minister toured various departments of the NLC Technical College. Director NLC Technical Colleges, Brigadier Amjad Jameel Iqbal, welcomed the minister.
Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar, addressed to the students of NLC Technical College, highlighted the significance of skills development and technical education. The government minister appreciated the educational and technical services of NLC Technical College, emphasizing that technical education institutions like NLC can potentially alleviate unemployment and poverty through skill-based education.
He underscored that information technology and technical education equip us to compete in today’s world. Engaging with the students, the minister expressed that youth are the backbone of progress in any country. Fortunately, more than 50% of Pakistan’s population comprises young individuals. He emphasized that technically skilled youth can contribute to the global human resource market, thereby enhancing the country’s trade and playing a pivotal role.
He stressed the need to emulate the progress of developed countries in the field of technology. Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar stated that collaboration in various sectors, including IT, is crucial in the era dominated by science and technology. He highlighted the necessity of shifting focus from traditional education to technological advancements, enabling the creation of skilled individuals who can contribute not only to the country’s development but also secure dignified employment.
The government minister mentioned plans to expand institutions like NLC Technical College into Azad Kashmir in the near future.
